ABB Optical Group Introduces EyecareLive Offering of Telemedicine Solution at No Cost for Two Months

Coral Springs, Fla. (May 18, 2020) – ABB Optical Group, a leading provider of optical products, services and business solutions for the eye care industry, has entered a long-term relationship with EyecareLive, a leader in telemedicine technology, to provide more options for eye care professionals (ECPs) to connect with their patients during the continuing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and beyond.

ABB Business Solutions brings EyecareLive’s doctor-owned, HIPAA compliant, optical focused platform to ECPs as part of a special promotion as eye care practices across the country begin to reopen their doors and look for ways to revitalize their business. ABB customers can take advantage of implementing EyecareLive’s telemedicine solution in their practice at no cost for 60 days, currently the most competitive telemedicine solution offer in the eye care industry.

”We are very excited to work together with EyecareLive to provide an even greater number of critical business solutions to our ECP customers. Across the country we are seeing an increase in the demand for varied methods of patient care as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said ABB Optical Group Senior Vice President of Strategy and Commercialization Erika Jurrens. “Now is a critical time for ECPs to communicate and provide their patients with peace of mind and convenient access to their trusted eye care professional through the use of telemedicine.”

EyecareLive’s patient-friendly app allows for easy appointment scheduling, video conferencing, messaging and allows for a variety of patient reminders and notifications. The platform also provides patients the ability to take app-facilitated tests for visual acuity, dry eye, contact lens comfort and macular degeneration. Telemedicine complements the role of the optometrist, and does not replace the need for comprehensive eye exams to provide the best care for patients’ eye health and safety.

As part of the relationship with ABB, an e-commerce solution allowing patients to reorder contact lenses from their eye care provider will launch in June, providing patients with even more convenience, access and choice. EyecareLive developed integration capabilities for ABB Optical Group to fulfill contact lens orders direct to patients’ homes.

“We are thrilled to be working with ABB,” said EyecareLive Vice President of Sales Beth Samenuk. “EyecareLive’s mission is to help doctors extend care beyond the four walls of their practice and provide patients with greater access to their trusted ECP. We align well with ABB’s ongoing commitment to provide doctors with meaningful products and solutions. Both organizations are dedicated to helping doctors implement telehealth quickly and effectively to enable long-term practice success.”
